Bev's question: Are there any rules regarding the wearing of pointe shoes in the IDO SHOWDANCE sections?

Bill's answer: There is no rule regarding footwear in Showdance competitions and now - that the newly proposed Showdance description says that Showdance pieces should be based on Jazz, Ballet or Modern technique - wearing pointe shoes would be completely acceptable.

Under BOOK 3, RULES FOR IDO DANCE DISCIPLINES, number 2, Jazz. It is written "suitable footwear must be worn." What is "suitable footwear?" If the choreography works better barefoot, is that considered suitable footwear. Can they use socks?
